  • Verdus is a traditional stone house situated off a quiet country road hamlet near Tournon d'Agenais, very near the border between the départements of Lot and Lot-et-Garonne 

    To ensure Guests have a maximum of space in quality accommodation, numbers are limited to 6 in 4 bedrooms. 

    The exclusive pool, 10m x 5m, and south facing terrace is set in around 0.2ha (1 acre) of garden with trees and shrubs. There is a field of around 1.5ha beyond. 

    With no immediate neighbours Guests can enjoy the spacious accommodation and outdoors in a peaceful country situation with Tournon d'Agenais a short 2km drive away, and more extensive shopping at either Montaigu de Quercy or Montayral approx 10km away. 

    The house has been specially adapted to include a wheelchair user, and there is an adapted shower in the dedicated bedroom. 
    Please note that babies and children under 6 years of age cannot be accepted at Verdus. 

    Roadside parking for 2 vehicles.

  • The spacious accommodation at Verdus is well arranged with an open plan Kitchen / Dining / Sitting room and 2 bedrooms on the Ground floor, along with a Games Room. 

    The KITCHEN is fitted and well equipped with hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine. 

    A large DINING TABLE easily seats 6 people

    A comfortable SITTING AREA has sofas, large television for DVD Player only.  
    (note Internet/Wifi is by Satellite - 100mb approx download speed) 

    Adjacent to the Sitting room is the GAMES ROOM with pool table, table football and an assortment of other games including Boules for Guests to enjoy.  A door opens onto the Pool terrace. 


    Bedroom 1 - Ground Floor Master Double bedroom with Ensuite bathroom. Doors open onto the Pool terrace.

    Bedroom 4 - Ground floor Adapted Suite for Wheelchair User with adapted ensuite shower, Single electric assistance bed and sofa bed if required.  
    There is a door that opens onto the pool terrace. 


    The house has electric heating if needed for cooler evenings and mornings.  

  • The exclusive Swimming Pool measures 10 x 5m and has a hard floating cover for security. Water purity is maintained with a salt system and the pool can be heated (at extra cost).

    It is surrounded by a good-sized terrace, with ample terrace furniture including sun loungers and sunshades. 

    The south facing pool terrace extends into a delightful shady garden which includes a boules pitch, and there is also a shady north facing terrace and smaller lawned area on the north side of the house.

    There is roadside parking for 2 vehicles.

  • Verdus is located in quiet countryside, a good distance off the main Villeneuve-sur-Lot to Cahors road which makes travelling around quick and easy: Nearby Tournon d'Agenais is a meeting of roads to all directions so larger towns such as Fumel, Moissac, Agen and Cahors are all within reasonably easy reach. 
    The character towns of the area including Montcuq, Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy can also be easily reached, 

    The countryside around this area is noted for food production, with many Cahors AOC vineyards nearby including Vin du Tsar and Domaine du Garinet which are both open for tastings and direct purchase of excellent wines and other foods. As you travel among the acres of vines and sunflowers you will also see soft fruit orchards, many producing plums for 'Pruneaux d'Agen', vegetables and nuts. Many of these are available direct from producers at markets which are held on most days of the week somewhere close by. A list is included under 'The Area' information at the top of this page. 


    Much of this produce is also used by restauranteurs, and a variety of restaurants can be found to suit all tastes: Food is generally of high quality, and prices very reasonable. Local specialities include delicious duck dishes.

    Those who enjoy venturing into history will also be very well catered for in this area with numerous 'bastide' villages dating from medieval times, some of which are perched on fortified hilltops. All make interesting visits: Lauzerte and Pujols are both listed among 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France',  Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Cahors both had Roman activity, and there are more medieval villages along the River Lot, including Puy L'Eveque, built cleverly into a very steep slope above the river.

    To the north of the River, Lot is some spectacular scenery, and there are two chateaux of note, Chateau de Bonaguil and Chateau Biron both open to visitors and making interesting visits.


    All along the River Lot, there are water-based activities including boat hire and river cruises. The nearest points to Verdus will be at 'Port Penne' near Penne d'Agenais and Fumel.

    For those wishing to explore by bicycle the countryside is gently rolling and cycling generally easy: More testing countryside can be found to the south, or (with the exception of one long slope down or up) the Lot Valley offers many miles of very level, easy and safe roads within a few kilometers of the house. 

    There is also a water park at Montaigu de Quercy, about 10km away, with a large beach area, lifeguard patrolled (in season) swimming, pedalo and boat hire, and some bars and restaurants, or riverside swimming in the River Lot at Castelfranc, about 15km away.

  • Booking notes

    Verdus is a wheelchair friendly property

    Age restriction - Children under the age of 6 years old are unfortunately not permitted at this property.

    Bed Linen & Towels -  Bed linen and Towels are included in the price of your booking.  Pool towels and baby linen are not included unless otherwise stated. 

    Arrival & Departure - Guest are requested not to arrive before 16h00 on the day of arrival, and to depart by 10h00 on the day of departure.   Bookings in July and August will run from SATURDAY TO SATURDAY. 

    Cleaning -  There is no fixed cleaning charge at this property. Guests are requested to leave the property in the same state of cleanliness as it was found, and to co-operate with any departure requests from the Managers. 

    Pool heating - Pool heating is optional at £170 per week, and can be selected within the booking form.

    Security Deposit -  A Security Deposit of £600 will be added to your invoice.  This will normally be repaid during the week after your booking ends.  

Changeover Day

How To Book

Making a provisional booking - Choose a currency and then click on the start date of your holiday, then on the departure date. A pop-up box will appear with the price & availability. (Note mandatory changeover dates for some seasons.) Click "BOOK NOW" that will show the provisional booking form to fill out.  You will then see the price but you will not be asked to make payment at this time. 

Your completed provisional booking form will be acknowledged, and we will confirm availability with the Property Managers.  Once confirmed, we will request a DEPOSIT, 20% of the Rental, and hold your booking for up to 3 days. 

The booking is complete when your deposit is received. Then you will receive an Invoice for the balance plus Security Deposit and any extra items ordered, to be paid no less than 8 weeks before Arrival date (or immediately if the booking is less than 8 weeks away) 

When payment of the invoice is received, directions and access information for the property will be sent.

Payment can be made in £GBP, €EUR or $USD via bank transfer or credit credit. (UK debit cards are also accepted.)  For any other payment method - please contact us
