Midway between the historic villages of Tournon d'Agenais and Penne d'Agenais is the historic Chateau de Sainte Foy. Guests enjoy two wings of this impressive chateau with spacious quality accommodation, and 10ha of well-managed grounds in the wonderful Quercy countryside.
With its own small chapel, Sainte Foy is also available for weddings, with the choice of either an indoor vaulted hall for around 120 guests or the covered cloisters behind the Chateau which will permit 300 guests to celebrate in the open air. Further details on our Weddings page.
There are several entrances for guests to use: The large entrances on the north side seen in the aerial images lead into the grand Vaulted Hall, which is available for guests to entertain up to 120 guests. To the left is a large feature fireplace, and to the right steps down lead to a large kitchen for preparation of meals for larger numbers, and this kitchen also houses the washing machine.
A door opens beside the fireplace opens into the East Wing, the first room being the informal dining room, with a small 'breakfast' kitchen on the ground floor of the round tower off it.
A door leads to the main staircase, and at the ground floor level, there is a Shower room with WC and basin.
A further door leads into the formal dining room, which offers 2 dining tables for up to 20 people to dine in comfort with a large working fireplace for heat and atmosphere.
Two doors lead off the far end of the Dining room - One to the comfortable and spacious Sitting room with television and comfortable seating, and the other to a few steps that lead down into the small library room where guests can read quietly and also browse a selection of information about the area.
All the bedrooms are on the first floor: From the top of the main stairs, doors open into the Main Master suite, which has a spacious en suite bathroom up a few steps. An interconnecting door leads to a smaller double/twin bedroom, although this bedroom also has its own small staircase up from the Sitting Room if required (see floorplan). The bathroom for the smaller bedroom is up a few steps.
Back at the top of the staircase, a door opens into the third spacious bedroom which has its bathroom in the upper storey of the circular tower.
The other two bedrooms are accessed by the gallery overlooking the inner courtyard, with the galley making an excellent place to take sun and shade as you wish during the day.
Both are spacious double bedrooms with bathrooms. There is also a small room for storage of linen, cases and other items as guests require.
Several of the bedrooms have both double and single beds, which offers flexibility between double and twin rooms.
All baths have shower attachments over.
Television is available in the Sitting Room
Please note that the West Wing of the Chateau is private to the Owners, as is the inner courtyard.
There is ample parking for several cars outside the East Wing.
Chateau de Sainte Foy extends to 10ha (25 acres) of carefully managed parkland with mature trees and shrubs throughout.
By the main gate to the Chateau is the small private chapel belonging to the Chateau where marriages and other ceremonies may take place, making the Chateau ideal for family occasions of all kinds.
Benches and tables are placed throughout the grounds to offer several different settings for al fresco dining with a barbecue available
The Chateau has its own orchard with cherry, apple and pear trees which adjoins the lake seen in the aerial pictures: Guests are free to wander around the property and enjoy the space and tranquillity of the Quercy countryside at its finest.
