Le Mayne is one of those places that the nearer you get you to wonder where you are going, as you leave a small country road onto a gravelled track with grass in the middle before you approach the property from the rear.
A peaceful oasis away from the world, and a chance for children to be children and families to be families - there is no wired internet connection, but in its place a good-sized swimming pool, table tennis, pool, volleyball, badminton, boules, woodland, fields and more for an active family to explore and interact together. That said, a mobile phone mast can be seen in the distance above the tree line, and so internet by 3G is fairly strong, and the Owner and his family manage quite adequately to communicate with that, although streaming and other high demand internet applications are unlikely to work properly.
The date above the door of the oldest part of the building is 1815, but once through the door, you are into a thoughtfully and carefully renovated house with five double bedrooms and a 'dortoir' of six single beds.
Available for smaller parties away from the main season, Le Mayne will certainly appeal to those who seek the French countryside's privacy with no near neighbours, and no roads or other transport links in view.
Haute Caussine is a 17th Century farmhouse renovated to a high standard which overlooks one of the finest views in the Quercy countryside near Fauroux. Extremely secluded and private - this is the place to be if you like to escape, and demand is high.

For those looking for an informal wedding venue, there is space for up to 80 guests to share your special day in beautiful intimate surroundings onto which can be arranged as you wish.

Conveniently situated about midway between the bastide towns of Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy, La Colamine is a good starting point to explore the countryside of south Quercy or equally an excellent place to enjoy peaceful family days by the pool with evenings on the terrace. The secure pool area with shaded deck area and games in the Barn make this a place for all ages to enjoy in safety.
Popular with families and smaller groups of adults alike, La Colamine's space and views can be very hard to leave at the end of a stay.
Arriving at the end of the lane through the local agricultural landscape, and entering Les Clauzades Vieilles through the stone arched gateway, you leave the world behind, and enter a tranquil atmosphere in which the body can relax and be refreshed. This is an ideal place to go for that special occasion or to retreat from the world to discover your family and friends together.
The original 16th century Quercy stone house has been very sympathetically renovated and added to with a wall dividing the parking area from the terrace, creating a sun trap around the pool in the process, and other outbuildings constructed with complementary features to give a very striking air to the property as a whole.
Set in around 6 acres of landscaped gardens with mature trees and shrubs, the ambience is one of great peace, and an ideal place for those seeking somewhere private for that special occasion, or to find some peace to devote the mind to matters entirely: It is little wonder that the house is owned by an award-winning writer.
A range of Guest services including catering for special meals etc can be arranged, but must be booked in advance: Please contact Halcyon Leisure for further information.
Coutures Ouest is situated on the edge of a valley overlooking spectacular countryside approximately 7km / 4.5 miles south of Bourg de Visa. It is in a very private and secluded situation at the end of a country lane.

Coutures Ouest offers flexible accommodation to all group sizes, but especially to larger or extended families seeking separated accommodation close by. The buildings have been carefully renovated by the English owners, and retain the character and many interesting features, some of which are not seen in any other Halcyon Leisure properties. Much thought has been given to creating areas to suit all moods at all hours of the day, and it would be very easy for a party member to find a peaceful shaded space while others were enjoying an alfresco meal together in the sun.
Spectacular is not a sufficient description for the position of Chateau Calvayrac, high above the town of Prayssac on the River Lot. The breathtaking view from the Chateau to the south over the river and rolling country of the south of the Lot department is one that guests will remember for a long time to come.
Since the Chateau was built in the 14th century it has been owned by only three families, the last of these the current English owners who purchased Chateau Calvayrac about fifteen years ago complete with the original antique furniture and fittings. Much of these remain around the Chateau for guests to absorb and enjoy in surroundings reminiscent of France of another era, but with all the comforts of modern living. The history of the Chateau is available for guests to read.
The Owners say: "Chateau Calvayrac is located in a fabulous position above the Lot river, offering unparalleled views of the valley whilst one dines or relaxes on the terrace. Calvayrac offers peace and privacy, set in 10 hectares of land: It is mostly woodland however the gardens have lovely terraces and well-kept borders and hedges. There is a large saltwater pool and guests can help themselves to the herbs, tomatoes, strawberries, figs and more which we grow.
The house itself is situated above impressive raised vaulted cellars, one of which is for the guests to enjoy.
The house was purchased by us in 2001 having had only two owners in its 700-year history. We also acquired the entire contents which include many Quercy antique pieces. We have sympathetically restored the house, and maintained its unique character and all the contents - and with a few fun additions too.
We can confidently say that all guests come away saying that Calvayrac offers something special, and we sincerely hope you will too"
The Owners have undertaken a careful and sympathetic programme of conservation, renovation and modernisation which has made Chateau Calvayrac a very special place for families and parties of friends to stay. It lends itself perfectly to families seeking somewhere special to celebrate anniversaries and birthdays, and also groups of friends travelling together looking for somewhere to enhance their time together.
As an additional service, a chef that lives very near will prepare and serve your party a gourmet meal in the medieval dining room.
As one would expect, the Chateau is spacious throughout, with various spaces for relaxation and privacy, and this extends outdoors with over 25 acres of managed grounds to explore, including wooded areas.
Chateau Calvayrac is a few miles west of Cahors, so it is close to the centre of the Cahors AOC wine area. There are numerous vineyards and wineries where the noted locally produced wine can be sampled and bought - and that is ignoring the vast array of produce grown in the area to the south of the Lot which makes this area of France noted as a source of excellent food and drink.
If you are seeking to experience Modern France along with Traditional France, you have found the ideal place - Chateau Calvayrac
Pech d'Auzonne is a delightful little house in a tiny hamlet near the village of Escayrac. Thoughtfully renovated by the Owners, the property retains many original vintage features, and the furnishings maintain the rural character of the house to a high degree.
