Electric Vehicle Charging

As electric vehicle charging is generally NOT permitted in HL Holidays properties, please find below some helpful information about charging, as well as links to easy-to-use maps & tools to find charging stations across Europe.

Our knowledge base article has good background about power consumptions, and other considerations including insurance & suitability of supply: https://vacanz.co.uk/knowledge-base/charging-electric-cars-and-bikes-in-gites/

Where to find charging locations:

  • Mobile apps: Use these links to download an app : PlugShare, Chargemap, or ChargePoint are popular options.
These provide location details but also details on types of chargers available, charging speeds, and user reviews.
  • Websites: Here are some popular platforms to search charging stations across Europe. You can normally use the
maps without creating an account. Remember to use the filters to find the charging stations with your necessary
socket type and desired kilowatt (kW) charging power.

Before embarking on your journey, consider these essential tips to ensure a seamless travel experience: Make sure
your vehicle's software is up to date for optimal performance, familiarise yourself with your charging speed to plan
stops effectively, keep a close eye on your battery health for reliable range estimation, and don't forget to pack any
necessary charging adapters or cables.

HL Holidays wishes you a safe and pleasant journey!
