Les Amis de Bernard is a terraced house on the outskirts of the charming village of Castelsagrat, Tarn-et-Garonne
Just a short walk from the house is the peaceful village square with a boulangerie, bar and restaurant. The typical Quercy stone arches on all sides of the square are complemented by wells which are now planted with flowers, giving a very gentle pleasant atmosphere during spring and summer.
Offering excellent family accommodation for up to 6 people, Les Amis de Bernard also has a library/office with a desk making it ideal for anyone who needs to work while they are on holiday - or indeed as a base for someone working away.

Les Amis de Bernard is located on a quiet country road on the outskirts of Castelsagrat.
Parking is on the roadside outside the house, and up to three cars can comfortably occupy the space, or there are other places that cars can be parked nearby.As seen in the floorplan, the layout of the house is very simple: On both floors a passage through the property has two rooms on either side on each level, and overlooking the garden and pool there is a covered terrace on the ground floor and a large balcony on the upper floor with superb views away to the south to the hills near Moissac.
On the ground floor are the Sitting room which adjoins the Dining Room with Sky TV and an open fireplace.
The Library/Office is intended as a quiet space for anyone wishing to work, study or read peacefully, and is equipped with a desk and chair.
The Kitchen is well equipped with a good range of utensils and appliancesUpstairs, there are three double bedrooms, one with an ensuite bathroom, and a very spacious family bathroom with a full sized bath and shower over.
From the central passage on both levels doors open onto either a covered terrace or a covered balcony above -
The covered terrace downstairs has an extending shade, making it a delightful cool place to relax when the sun is at its most severe. With plenty of space and a charcoal barbecue on the patio outside, it is a great place for al fresco dining
The upstairs balcony, equally deep, enjoys spectacular views over the countryside beyond,
The garden area between the house and pool is paved with some shrubs, and the high hedges offer maximum privacy around the pool -
Castelsagrat is an extremely picturesque village with character arches surrounding the square. Under these arches are found a boulangerie, restaurant/bar and small grocery store among other shops, all just a short walk from Les Amis de Bernard.
A short distance away by car is the traffic free village of Montjoi: Well worth a visit to see true character alive and well in the 21st century complete with its colourful cows and view point over the surrounding countryside.
There are many other towns within easy reach, each with their own character: Bourg de Visa, Lauzerte and Beauville all have a mixture of business and character for visitors to enjoy.
Within 40 minutes drive is the vale of the River Garonne with larger towns including Valence d'Agen and Moissac, home of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Abbé and Cloisters St Pierre.
For an easy cycle ride, there is an off road path along the Garonne Canal which joins the Atlantic and Mediterranean with several bike hire points en route - not that the undulating area around Castelsagrat is bad for cycling as long as you can handle occasional steady climbs. The area also has a large number of well signed footpaths to explore.
The area is well known for producing food and drink of all kinds, with the Cahors AOC red wine production area to the north and the Moissac area to the south produces a delicious white Chasselas wine - so it depends which colour wine you prefer!
There are orchards, nut groves, melon fields and much much more to be seen in the area, and all will be found in raw and prepared form at the markets which will happen somewhere near every day. -

Booking notes
Linen & Towels - Bed linen and Towels are included in the price of your booking. Pool towels and baby linen are not included unless otherwise stated.
Baby equipment - If not included in your rental, High Chairs, Travel cots and Play pens are available to rent at £GBP20 /week / item: Please indicate these on your Booking Form.
Arrival & Departure - For weekly stays Guests are requested not to arrive before 16h00 on the day of arrival, and to depart by 10h00 on the day of departure
Cleaning - Guests are requested to leave the property in the same state of cleanliness as it was found, and to co-operate with any departure requests from the Managers. End of stay cleaning can be booked in advance at £GBP175 / €EUR200
Security Deposit - A Security Deposit of £GBP500/ €EUR600 will be added to your invoice. This will normally be repaid during the week after your booking ends.
Prices - Using the drop down at the top right of the Calendar, prices can be displayed in £GBP . €EUR or $USD. For other currencies please request confirmation from HL. Please see separate price information for 'Le Grand Weekend' stays
Payments - can be made by any of the following methods in £GBP or €EUR. (Other currencies please contact us)

- Debit / Credit card over the phone - our office number is 01460 30200.
- Direct bank transfer - please contact us for account details.
- Cheque - please confirm payee details before sending.
Booking Procedure: Please submit a Reservation Request Form (blue button 'Book Now' under the Availability Calendar): This will be acknowledged, and we will confirm availability with the Property Managers.
Once confirmed, we will request a DEPOSIT, normally 20% of the Tariff, and hold the booking in your name for up to 3 days while payment of the deposit is arranged.
The booking is confirmed when the deposit is received, and you will receive an Invoice for the balance plus the Security Deposit and any extra items ordered to be paid no less than 8 weeks before the Arrival date (or immediately if the booking is less than 8 weeks away)
When payment of the invoice is received you will receive directions to the property and also access information.
How To Book
Booking - Click on the start date of your holiday, then on the departure date of your holiday. you will then see a pop-up box with the chosen dates and availability. Click the "BOOK NOW" button which will show the provisional booking form to fill out. Enter your details, payment methods and any extra services required then click the continue button at the bottom. You will then be shown a payment summary but you will not be asked to make any payment online
