La Petite Hune ( ' The Little Lookout' ) sits on a small quiet backstreet of the historic village of Mansonville on the very edge of Tarn et Garonne, and overlooks the gentle rolling countryside of Gers. La Petite Hune is on the edge of the attractive village of Mansonville, with a bar/restaurant/shop and 'depot de pain' within walking distance of the cottage.
Mansonville is on the very edge of Tarn-et-Garonne, and within a few hundred yards you will be out into the gently rolling beautiful countryside of Gers and the Vale of the Garonne.
Shopping is a short distance away, just 5km to the historic town of Auvillar and its famous market place, or a little further to Valence d'Agen for a full range of shops and supermarkets.
The regional centres of Agen (35km) and Montauban (50km) are both within easy reach, with the main Bordeaux to Toulouse motorway running between them.
Many more attractions for the family are found around the countryside: The Garonne Canal has a well established cycle path for hundreds of kilometers between the Atlantic and Mediterranean, with several hire points available along the route. A particularly good one is Café Velo at Agen, based in the old pumping house - worth a visit in itself - right by the main aqueduct very close to Agen station.
An international highlight is the Abbey and Cloisters at Moissac - a must see for most visitors.
With the river featuring heavily, there are many places to eat out, and the local produce is also available at the markets held most days somewhere close by.
