  • Previously run as an artists retreat, Baran is a character property set in beautiful peaceful countryside on the south-facing slope of the Lot valley. 

    With extensive grounds including lawns, orchards and ponds it is a peaceful haven for families to relax and enjoy their break together.

    There is also a lounge and entertainment space within the adjacent meticulously refurbished barn, as well as an exclusive swimming pool and jacuzzi. 

  • There are 5 ensuite bedrooms at Baran, and they can be made up as twin rooms if required. 

    The gourmet kitchen is equipped with high-end appliances, including both gas and electric stoves, 2 fridges, 2 sinks, coffee maker, microwave and toaster. 

    A large dining table seats up to 14 people, with an adjacent bathroom and the sitting room has comfortable furnishings and a library with a good selection of books. 

    The meticulous attention to detail in refurbishing this property, combined with its beautiful décor and antique furniture, is truly impressive.

  • With extensive grounds including woodland, ponds, lawns and plum orchards Baran offers guests the chance to enjoy spectacular views over the Lot valley in almost unrivalled peace. 

    A 5 x 6m swimming pool with easy steps make for safe swimming, a jacuzzi attached, and outdoor furniture including tables, parasols and more make the outdoors a delight for all. 

    A large stone table on the main terrace is ample for all guests to enjoy al fresco dining cooked on the nearby built-in charcoal barbecue. 

    Extensive parking and the layout of the accommodation make this an excellent choice for a number of families to holiday together. 

  • Nearby Duravel has all village amenities, and with a large LeClerc supermarket, a short drive away at Montayral supplies are never a problem. Duravel has a selection of restaurants and wineries, with the usual weekly market, tennis courts and more facilities. 

    To the north are the hills dividing Lot and Dordogne with nearby castles open to visit at Fumel, Bonaguil and Biron. 

    For the active, the cycle route along the old Fumel railway through the Lot valley continues, and there is canoeing, kayaking and fishing available at various places along the River Lot. 

    There are markets somewhere near every day, and Prayssac market on a Friday has an enviable reputation for the quality of its food and produce. 

    Being near the main Cahors to Villeneuve Sur Lot road gives access to east and west easily, and the river crossing at Duravel means access to the delightful rolling countryside of the Quercy Blanc around Montaigu de Quercy and Tournon d'Agenais is easily accessed.

  • Booking notes

    Linen & Towels -  Bed linen and Towels are included in the price of your booking.  Pool towels and baby linen are not included unless otherwise stated. 

    Arrival & Departure - Guest are requested not to arrive before 16h00 on the day of arrival, and to depart by 10h00 on the day of departure.  

    Cleaning An end-of-stay cleaning fee of £200 will be added to all bookings.

    Security Deposit -  A Security Deposit of £800 will be added to your invoice.  This will normally be repaid during the week after your booking ends.

How To Book

Making a provisional booking - Choose a currency and then click on the start date of your holiday, then on the departure date. A pop-up box will appear with the price & availability. (Note mandatory changeover dates for some seasons.) Click "BOOK NOW" that will show the provisional booking form to fill out.  You will then see the price but you will not be asked to make payment at this time. 

Your completed provisional booking form will be acknowledged, and we will confirm availability with the Property Managers.  Once confirmed, we will request a DEPOSIT, 20% of the Rental, and hold your booking for up to 3 days. 

The booking is complete when your deposit is received. Then you will receive an Invoice for the balance plus Security Deposit and any extra items ordered, to be paid no less than 8 weeks before Arrival date (or immediately if the booking is less than 8 weeks away) 

When payment of the invoice is received, directions and access information for the property will be sent.

Payment can be made in £GBP, €EUR or $USD via bank transfer or credit credit. (UK debit cards are also accepted.)  For any other payment method - please contact us
