    Vidalot enjoys a wonderful southerly aspect from its elevated position a short drive east of Tournon d'Agenais, with an unobstructed view over the landscape to the south from the balcony on the side of the house.

    It is situated at the end of its own small lane, offering guests complete privacy, and has become a favourite with couples and smaller parties seeking a very private and spacious property as well as remaining popular with larger families and groups of friends. You arrive there, switch off your car engine, and let the peace envelop you while you enjoy the open south-facing pool and terrace.

    The house is furnished very practically to suit all tastes and oozes strong character inside and out.  Impressive features, exposed timbers and tiled floors coupled with the spectacular view -  it is little wonder that Vidalot remains among the most requested properties in the Halcyon Leisure portfolio, and early booking is recommended.

  • Driving up Vidalot's own narrow lane you arrive in front of the house where there is hard standing for several cars and space to manoeuvre.

    Entering by the steps under the Pigeonier Tower, you come into the Sitting room, where you cannot fail to be impressed by the large stone fireplace which dominates the room. Comfortable sofas and a dining table and chairs furnish the room, along with the television and a cd player.

    Double doors lead onto a large balcony with a sunshade: This has unobstructed views across the countryside to the south, and is an ideal place for outdoor meals, and particularly sunset refreshments. The view in summer and autumn is pictured, and the full moon and starlit sky are a wonder to behold. The balcony also overlooks the pool and terrace below. Sunloungers and outdoor furniture are provided.

    Leading off the Sitting room is the first bedroom, a spacious Double with a wardrobe and hand basin. As with all furnishings throughout Vidalot, the bed and wardrobe are complementary to the style of the building - modernised traditionally.

    The Kitchen is based around a very practical U-shaped run of units, with a gas hob, oven, microwave and dishwasher incorporated: A large fridge/freezer is in the lobby area that leads to a side door.

    Divided from the rest of the house are the other three bedrooms and a bathroom.

    The Master Double bedroom is especially spacious and has south-facing windows which enjoy the same spectacular view as the balcony. An ensuite Shower room also has a basin and WC.

    The other two bedrooms are both Twin rooms, which combined with the other rooms offers parties and families the maximum sleeping accommodation flexibility.

    There are two Bathrooms: One a Bathroom with Bath, basin and WC, and the other a Shower room with shower, basin and WC.

  • The private Swimming Pool measures 12 x 6m and has an alarm system. Water purity is maintained with chlorine. It is surrounded by a good-sized terrace, and also enjoys the views across the countryside.

    Beside the pool is an open barn area, which has a table tennis table in it. A charcoal barbecue is also provided.

    The surroundings are mainly grassed, with trees and shrubs around, and a number of flowering plants carefully maintained make Vidalot a beautiful spot in an idyllic position tucked under a large area of woodland with spectacular views across woodland and fields to the south. 

  • Vidalot sits under woodland and overlooks open countryside so walking, cycling and natural history including birdwatching are all there to be enjoyed close by the house. Deer are frequent visitors to nearby fields in the evening, and the woodland around is a haven of birdlife with the morning chorus a free show every morning.

    The countryside is a large food basket, with vineyards nearby including Vin du Tsar and Domaine du Garinet which are both open for tastings and direct purchase of excellent wines and other foods. As you travel among the acres of sunflowers you will also see soft fruit orchards, many producing plums for 'Pruneaux d'Agen', vegetables and nuts. Many of these are available direct from producers at markets which are held on most days of the week somewhere close by. A list is included under 'The Area' information at the top of this page. 

    Much of this produce is also used by restauranteurs, and a variety of restaurants can be found to suit all tastes: Food is generally of high quality, and prices very reasonable. Local specialities include delicious duck dishes.

    Vidalot is about 1.5km off the D656 which follows the route of a Roman road between Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Cahors so exploring further afield is direct and fairly quick.

    Those who enjoy venturing into history will also be very well catered for in this area with numerous 'bastide' villages dating from medieval times, some of which are perched on fortified hilltops. All make interesting visits: Lauzerte and Pujols are both listed among 'Les Plus Beaux Villages de France',  Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Cahors both had Roman activity, and there are more medieval villages along the River Lot, including Puy L'Eveque, built cleverly into a very steep slope above the river.

    To the north of the River Lot is some spectacular scenery, and there are two chateaux of note, Chateau de Bonaguil and Chateau Biron both open to visitors and making interesting visits.

    All along the River Lot, there are water-based activities including boat hire and river cruises. The nearest points to Vidalot will be at 'Port Penne' near Penne d'Agenais and Fumel.

    There is also a water park at Montaigu de Quercy, about 10km away, with a large beach area, lifeguard patrolled (in season) swimming, pedalo and boat hire, and some bars and restaurants.

    • All prices include Linen (Bed linen, bathroom towels & kitchen towels). Pool towels and baby linen are not included unless otherwise stated.
    • Cot, High Chair & Playpen are available to hire at £15/week/item - Please indicate these items on your Booking Form.
    • A Security Deposit is also payable, and this is usually refunded (less any deductions) within one week of the end of your stay.
    • Cleaning at the end of your stay is not included: It may be available as an option, but this (and any other services required) should be booked well in advance of your stay to ensure availability.

How to make a provisional booking.

Booking - Click on the start date of your holiday, then on the departure date of your holiday. you will then see a pop-up box with the chosen dates and availability. Click the  "BOOK NOW"  button which will show the provisional booking form to fill out. Enter your details, payment methods and any extra services required then click the continue button at the bottom. You will then be shown a payment summary but you will not be asked to make any payment online

Payment - Payment can be made by any of the following methods in £GBP or €EUR .
