Le Bulidou has been a favourite property for several years, offering spacious accommodation for large families in a quiet and secluded end of road location. This has also been attractive for smaller parties wanting the space of a larger property in combination with peace and privacy.
Well modernised throughout, and with a high spec kitchen and master ensuite bathroom recently installed, the accommodation is well maintained and of a high standard throughout. The house is also fully heated for out of season letting.
An adjacent barn with table tennis and pool tables offers extra entertainment, and bicycles are also provided for guests to explore the gently undulating countryside around the area on quiet country roads.
Le Bulidou overlooks open countryside, and is in 1 ha (2.5acres) of land so space inside or out is never a problem: Trees provide shade at all times. The swimming pool is a natural sun trap and is well equipped with poolside furniture. There is also an al fresco dining area beside the pool with a large gas barbecue.
Arriving at Le Bulidou, you get to the end of the road where there is a large hard standing area between the House and the Barn with parking and turning space for several cars.
The house throughout has exposed timbers and furniture which is light in colour, and has been decorated in light and pastel colours giving a very bright and airy feel.
The main door to the House leads into the open plan Kitchen/Dining room. The kitchen has recently been completely remodelled and upgraded, and provides high spec kitchen equipment including a large ceramic hob, double combination oven/grill/microwave, large American style Fridge Freezer complete with ice maker and water chiller and a good range of utensils and equipment for dining indoors and outdoors.All worktops are easy to clean marble, and with no wall units, there is a feeling of tremendous space throughout. As a bonus, windows face east and south so there is always plenty of light.
The main dining table seats 12 easily, and there is also a television linked to the satellite system through which television or music can be played.
A wood burning stove is also located in the area between the kitchen and sitting room. Off the kitchen is the Utility room with washing machine and hanging area.
There is a fully furnished and spacious Double bedroom on the Ground floor, suitable for those unable to manage stairs, and a separate Shower room with wc and basin.
An attractive and spacious sitting room has large sofas and armchairs arranged around the room with a beamed ceiling. The satellite television is here, along with DVD and cd players and a full surround sound system to make the most of your viewing and listening. There is an excellent selection of DVDs available for guests.
Stairs lead up to the First floor landing off which the four remaining bedrooms are accessed: Two spacious Double rooms (one with new spacious ensuite shower room), a Triple bedroom with three single beds, and a second Triple room with a Double bed and a Single bed. The stairs and landing are lined with bookshelves with a very broad range of books for guests to enjoy.
Polished hardwood flooring is a feature of the first floor at Le Bulidou, as can be seen in these pictures.
An archway leads through an inner landing with the Linen cupboard and the luxury Family Bathroom off it, with Bath, separate Shower, two basins and wc.
The final bedroom is the deluxe Master Double bedroom, fully furnished and with ensuite bathroom and wc.
A Juliet balcony (seen in the picture at the top of the page) enjoys a view over the pool and the unspoilt countryside beyond.
Le Bulidou stands in 1 ha (2.5 acres) of unfenced land with rolling countryside and woodland beyond which guests may explore.
There are mature trees providing a shaded grassed area with table and chairs beside the house, or guests may prefer to walk down the lavender lined path down the steps to the Swimming pool and sun terrace.
The Barn beside the house has table tennis and pool tables as well as other games equipment, and there are 5 bicycles provided for guests to use. Other bicycles can be hired locally.
The Swimming pool measures 11 x 5m, with Roman steps for easy access and an alarm for safety. Water purity is maintained with chlorine. Sunloungers and other poolside furniture is provided. Lighting means that peaceful sunset evenings can be enjoyed on the pool terrace and dining area.
A separate paved area just off the sun terrace is used for al fresco dining and barbecue cooking. A gas barbecue is provided.

Le Bulidou is in the centre of an area of great natural beauty, and, besides its own gorgeous setting, you will not have to go far to find great landscapes as you drive.
With quiet roads all around, cycle rides make a pleasant alternative way to explore the countryside.
The area is full of small charming villages and hamlets, most without shops or bars, but generally retain the flavour of rural France. The larger villages and towns are listed in the general area information, the nearest being Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy which are both medieval hilltop bastide villages with narrow streets, medieval timbered houses and spectacular views from the ancient stone walls.
Montaigu de Quercy has a water park with a large beach area, pedalo hire, zip wires and tennis court together with restaurants and bars - a day at the seaside inland. Water activities will also be found all along the River Lot, a short drive away, with Penne D'Agenais and Fumel the nearest points at which the river will be accessed.
The area abounds in produce of all kinds - The Cahors AOC wine area is just to the north, and as you travel around you will see a wide variety of produce being grown - sunflowers and cereals, soft fruit, vegetables, nuts and much more. Many of these products will be found in the markets which are usually held on the same day of the week in the villages, and a list of these is also in the general area information.
Both Lauzerte and Montaigu de Quercy have a selection of restaurants offering local produce and more traditional favourites: Some of these are listed on the Links page above.
