Las Brugues is set in a very tranquil situation in beautiful rolling countryside between Roquecour and Montaigu de Quercy, and has gorgeous views over the surrounding countryside with hardly a house in sight.
Accessed by its own private road approx 500m long, peace and privacy are assured. With a modern finish and ambiance, Las Brugues will appeal to most families and groups seeking well managed and maintained modern facilities. Smaller numbers who are seeking space will also enjoy this property. Guests who visit in the shoulder season have the added comfort of under floor heating and a wood burner for cooler evenings and morning.
The Pigeonnier Tower is a separate self contained unit let as part of Las Brugues, and makes a conveniently private place for a couple to have privacy within the party.
Las Brugues is approached along a 500m long private road, and there is ample parking for several vehicles with plenty of turning space.
Main House - La Grange - Sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms
From the Parking area, the main door is approached through the long Covered Terrace with vines growing on it, offering maximum shade in high season. Overlooking the pool, there is also a large table and chairs here.
Entering the French doors on the right of the picture above, you will be in the open plan Sitting room, a spacious light and airy room. Furnished with large leather sofas, this makes a comfortable and attractive place to spend time. With underfloor heating and a woodburner, early or late season guests need not worry about cooler parts of the day. A small lobby off the room has storage cupboards and a Cloakroom with wc and basin.
The Open Plan continues at the rear of the Sitting Room which opens into the Kitchen / Dining area with a run of fitted kitchen units including built in hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. There is also a good selection of other appliances and utensils. A large Dining Table seating 8 completes the furnishing.
From the Kitchen/Dining area double doors open onto a very private terraced area for complete peace and privacy. Part covered, there are potted lime and lemon trees and other trailing plants to make a very peaceful ambiance in this particular area.
Back inside, modern easy stairs lead to the first floor, which open onto a large landing at the top with a Settee, Television and DVD player. The four bedrooms, two Double and two Twin, are all decorated in white with light furniture giving a very light and contemporary feel throughout: Minimalist decoration helps create a feeling of space.
The Double bedrooms both have en suite shower rooms with wc, and there is also a separate Bathroom with bath & shower over, wc and basin.
Access to a Utility Room with Washing Machine and ironing board is from the long covered terrace outside the Front door, and there is also a garage /store area where the table tennis table and bicycles will be found. .
Pigeonnier Tower - Sleeps 2 in 1 bedroom
The Pigeonnier Tower offers separate accommodation in a simple 'One up. One down' building for a couple away from the main party, Unusually, the Double Bedroom is on the ground floor, and has an ensuite shower room with basin and wc.
Stairs up open into a compact open plan Kitchen/Dining/ Sitting room with a simple kitchen. French doors open onto an outdoor terrace from which the pool and garden can be seen, and there are outside stairs up to this terrace as well, so that anyone coming to the Pigeonnier Tower does not have to come through the Ground Floor bedroom.
The grounds around Las Brugues are maintained to a high standard, and include many flowers and shrubs, as well as trailing plants and vines. Throughout the season something will be in flower to ensure there is always a bright and welcoming feeling around.
Enjoying a glorious panoramic view. the Swimming pool and terrace are a major feature, with the terrace lined with a classic balustrade, and an unusual turret at the far end making an ideal spot for barbecuing, or sitting with the very best view over the countryside.
Protected with an alarm system, the pool measures 12 x 6m. Water purity is maintained with chlorine There are also integral steps into the pool for easy access.
Bicycles are available and are stored in the Garage, along with a table tennis table.
A gasbarbecue is available.

Las Brugues has several miles of quiet roads around it, and some undulating countryside making it ideal for exploring on foot or by bicycle: Additional bicycles can be hired in Montaigu de Quercy if required.
The countryside around is a veritable food basket with many acres of sunflowers being grown for oil among other cereal crops, and there are also considerable areas of fruit orchards, vineyards, vegetables and nut groves.
Many of these products can be purchased directly from artisans at markets which are held in most larger villages and towns throughout the area: Montaigu de Quercy market is on a Saturday and Roquecor on Sundays. A list of other markets is included in The Area information above.
Restaurants are also active customers for this fresh produce, and a good range of restaurants and bars will be found in the area offering good quality food, generally at very reasonable prices.
The natural history of the area is everywhere around, with animals and plants to be seen often, and interesting rock formations and valleys to be found particularly along the Lot a little way to the north of Las Brugues.
Ancient history is also rich in this area, with both Montaigu de Quercy and Roquecour having medieval roots and many historical buildings still in evidence. A little further away Lauzerte and Pujols, just south of Villeneuve sur Lot, are both listed in 'Les Plus Beaux villages de France'. Roman evidence is seen in the main roads, many of which are typically straight, making travel around the area reasonably direct and swift. Both Cahors and Villeneuve sur Lot have Roman connections.
Medieval chateaux are found north of the River Lot in the stunning countryside near Villereal with Chateau Biron and Chateau de Bonaguil the most popular to visit.
Water based activities including river trips, boat hire and fishing can be found wherever the River Lot is accessed, the nearest being Port de Penne, near the bridge over the river at Penne d'Agenais. For different water activities, Montaigu de Quercy has its own water park, with a large sandy beach area, lifeguard patrolled (in season) swimming, boat and pedalo hire, and zip wires over the lake along with bars and restaurants.

A Security Deposit is also payable, and this is usually refunded (less any deductions) within one week of the end of your stay.
Cleaning at the end of your stay is not included: It may be available as an Option, but this (and any other services required) should be booked well in advance of your stay to ensure availability
